The thousands of hours spent on each article are used to showcase their work. They spent two days finding the best rum, while some connoisseurs spend a lifetime searching for it.
The good joke
Given the evidence of their work, I wonder if they actually tested the rums they selected. They’re not even using their photos for their articles. They took country email list one of my photos to illustrate the Trois Rivières (without asking my permission, by the way). So they certainly didn’t collect the bottles to test them.

I’m willing to believe their opinion is impartial
because I don’t think they have one. Well, it’s even worse, because when they got trashed for the first version of the article, they changed it completely. So they don’t even take responsibility for their selection.
And worse, it only selects products that are resold on Amazon and Cdiscount. Only Mount Gay doesn’t have a resale link from these two deep dive into cdn monitoring major platforms. These are affiliate links. This means that if you make a purchase on one of these platforms after clicking on one of the links, you’ll receive a portion of the amount paid. That’s their business model.
For this to work, you need to have lots of articles on lots of topics, because not every article makes a ton of money.
