“About Me” Text – How to Get to Know Your Best Side

You have a challenge ahead of you – to write an “About Me” text for your website. What will you write? What will you brag about? Do you think that because you are not the author of a book, you did not win an Oscar, it will be boring? I will show you that it does not have to be.

– The “About Me” tab? Nobody reads that anyway… – you probably thought so when you were writing texts for your website. And you wrote anything: that you’ve been running a business for 5 years, that your work is your passion, etc. platitudes? What if I told you that this is the most visited tab on a website?

Or maybe you already know this and it occurred to you that this text should be funny? But you don’t know what else you can write besides the points like in a CV?

Why do you need an “About Me” text?

Even when you’re looking for a photographer… Sure, you’ll choose the one whose photos made you blush. However, before you book a session, you’ll probably also check who the girl is. You want to know if the session will be not only beautiful, but also pleasant and stress-free, because you’re on the same wavelength.

You strengthen your image as an expert

If your business is make your emails stand out using  on knowledge, you need to tell people where you got it from and whether you know what you’re talking about. That’s why the “About Me” tab is so important if you offer courses, are a coach, psychologist or sell other consulting services.

You know that you have competences and skills. And the client will learn about them from the opinions and text about you. A tab with a portfolio or projects is not enough. The client wants to see who is behind them.

You inspire confidence

With a well-written text, you will build trust. A client who came to you by accident, because, for example, he liked your post on Instagram, wants to check what you do and who you are before he starts working with you. And it’s your job to present yourself to him in the best possible way.

You stand out

As much as you want to, you are not sg number in your industry. Unless you have a truly unique business (let me know in the comments, I am very curious what you do). Companies offer similar services. But their stories are different.

A client decides to work with you for various reasons, and one of them may be that they feel a flow with someone they just met through the “About Me” tab. Maybe your client is also a mother of two children, or she completed the same course as you, or maybe she simply feels that she has found a common language and knows that this cooperation will be successful.
